The Holiday Drink – How to Make It

WHere is an easy interpretation of a cocktail found on a new menu. It's a party-sized prepared mix that is bursting with flavours of the holiday season, which makes it perfect for a holiday party. Save the extra citrus syrup you can use for morning drinks, puddings, or to mix more rounds of the drink.

Bikini Recipe

Yields 10 servings

To make the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

For the Cocktail (yields 850ml, serving 10)

400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Method

Making the Cordial: Put all the components into a saucepan, bring to a light boil, mixing to dissolve. After that, turn off the heat allowing it to cool fully. Decant into an sealable bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the fridge, where it will keep for up to four weeks.

For the Premix: Mix every liquids into one sizeable container, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then filter it best through muslin, so it's fully clarified.

To serve: Measure 85ml of your premix to a mixing glass containing ice, and stir gently for a minute to cool it down. Strain to a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, decorate with a few cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of the essential oil over the top.
